This might be a really dumb question but have you ever seen your birth certificate?&lt;br&gt;
 &lt;br&gt;
The person who gave birth to you's name will be on it - it is probably the easiest way to check - if your mum can't supply you with one you are allowed to go and ask for a copy. Questions only arise if you were legally adpoted (as in my case) when obtaing a copy of your certificate.&lt;br&gt;
